Project Spotlight: Passive House in Very Hot Climate

The project is new affordable housing located in Bangkok, Thailand. The project was completed in 2019 and was constructed in accordance with the Passive House standard. This prototype building model will not only fulfill the intention of offering affordable housing but also achieve its’ goals of improving the owner’s comfort and energy savings. The presentation will also cover the unique challenges posed by the implementation of Passive House standards in affordable housing; challenges such as a limited budget, local materials, a new concept of ventilation and the behavior of local homeowners.
